Popular comedian-turned-preacher, Oluwatoyin Bayegun, widely known as Woli Arole, has called on Nigerians to take pride in their citizenship just as they do when acquiring that of the United Kingdom, Canada, or the United States.
In a post shared on his Instagram page on Friday, Arole questioned why Nigerians celebrate foreign citizenship while neglecting their own. He emphasized the need to appreciate and honor being a Nigerian.
Expressing his thoughts humorously, he wrote, “Why do people celebrate citizenship of the UK, Canada, and America, yet I, who am proudly Nigerian, have never celebrated mine? Abeg, John, Feyi, Flo, Charles, let’s celebrate! Who’s celebrating with me?”
His post has since sparked conversations on social media, with many agreeing that Nigerians should show more appreciation for their nationality.
It is worth noting that Arole recently lost his father, a loss he publicly mourned last month.
