UK Varsity appoints Nigerian education advocate Ogunsan to Advisory Board

The University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, has appointed Nigerian education advocate, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, to the Advisory Board of its Centre for African Social and Economic Transformation (CASET).

The appointment was confirmed in an official letter signed by the university’s Deputy Vice Chancellor and Registrar, Jo Midgley, who commended Dr. Ogunsan’s significant contributions to education across Africa.

His efforts in promoting access to quality education, particularly among underserved communities in Nigeria, were highlighted as key reasons for his selection.

Dr. Ogunsan is also a Board Member of the Centre for Digital Humanities (CEDHUL) at the University of Lagos and has been actively involved in training university leaders and academic staff.

According to UWE, his background and experience make him an asset to CASET’s mission.

“As a Board member, you will play a crucial role in shaping CASET’s strategic direction, providing high-level support and guidance on stakeholder engagement strategies and knowledge dissemination efforts,” the university stated in the appointment letter.

Dr. Ogunsan’s appointment underscores growing international recognition of his commitment to advancing education in Africa.
