Manchester United poised to activate Osimhen’s €75m release clause

Manchester United are reportedly set to make Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen their marquee signing this summer, with plans to trigger his €75 million release clause.

The Premier League club is eager to strengthen its attacking lineup, with Osimhen identified as a top target. According to Italian outlet TuttoMercato, his contract with Napoli includes a release clause that allows clubs outside Italy to sign him for the stated fee, making him an attractive prospect.

Amorim Aims to Bolster United’s Attack
United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, is focused on reinforcing the team’s frontline, which currently relies on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Bringing in Osimhen is seen as a key move in their effort to regain dominance.

However, the 25-year-old striker is drawing interest from several top European clubs. Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini reports that Juventus, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring his situation closely.

Competition from Juventus, Arsenal, and PSG
“It’s well known that Osimhen is Juventus’ primary target for the upcoming season. Giuntoli is familiar with him and views him as the perfect addition to their attack, especially with Vlahovic’s potential departure,” Ceccarini stated.

Arsenal and PSG have also expressed interest in Osimhen, who netted 26 goals last season. Despite the competition, United’s readiness to meet his release clause could give them an advantage in securing his signature.

United’s Edge in the Transfer Race
“The main challenge for Juventus is negotiating under favorable financial conditions. Osimhen has a strong market appeal, particularly in the Premier League. With his €75 million clause applicable only to non-Italian clubs, Manchester United are well-positioned to reshape their attack with his addition,” Ceccarini added.

If United can offload surplus players to raise funds, they could emerge as frontrunners in the race to sign Osimhen, addressing their long-standing need for a top-class striker.
