Two Nigerians arrested in Kuwait over alleged $14,918 robbery

Authorities in Kuwait have arrested two unidentified Nigerians in connection with the robbery of an exchange office in the Ahmadi Province, where they allegedly stole $14,918 (equivalent to 4,600 Kuwaiti Dinars).

The Kuwaiti General Department of Criminal Investigation (GDCI) apprehended the suspects within 24 hours of the crime, which occurred in Mahboula, a district in southern Kuwait City. The arrests were confirmed in a statement by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, as reported by Arab Times Online.

Surveillance footage published by the Arab Times Online shows one of the suspects exiting a vehicle wearing a balaclava, entering the exchange office, and pointing what appeared to be a firearm at an official inside.

Investigations revealed that the suspects meticulously planned the robbery. According to reports, they monitored the exchange office from nearby rooftops to identify peak operational times and used stolen license plates to disguise the vehicles involved in the heist.

One suspect, arrested in Mahboula, allegedly confessed to scouting the location and alerting his accomplice when the office was free of customers. The second suspect was detained at Al-Qurain Market, where authorities recovered the stolen money and a bag containing crystal meth from his residence.

The Ministry of Interior stated that the suspects and the recovered items have been handed over to the public prosecution for further legal proceedings.
