At a political forum held in Paris, France, on February 26, 2025, Nigerians in the Diaspora reiterated their confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Chief Olumuyiwa Moses Ogunjimi, Chairman of APC France, highlighted the government’s key achievements, including the rollout of student loans, progress in refinery operations, food price stabilization, and enhanced national security. He urged Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to continue supporting the administration to sustain democratic progress.
During a press conference, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, detailed the government’s successes. He announced that under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, 169,000 students had received N32.8 billion for tuition and living expenses, fulfilling one of Tinubu’s major campaign promises.
To ensure transparency, Idris revealed that all ministries would present their scorecards ahead of the administration’s second anniversary. On security, he reported that in 2024 alone, over 8,000 terrorists and bandits were neutralized, 11,600 suspects arrested, and more than 10,000 weapons recovered. He also noted that notorious highways like Abuja-Kaduna had become safer, with around 8,000 kidnapped victims successfully rescued.
The administration also made a significant impact in the energy sector with the revival of the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company. President Tinubu described the refinery’s restart as a major milestone, restoring public confidence in his leadership. The 125,000-barrel-per-day facility is expected to lower fuel prices and boost competition in the market. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has also announced plans to export refined petroleum products to generate foreign revenue.
International recognition of the administration’s security efforts has also grown. Former British diplomat David Roberts praised Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for improving Nigeria’s security landscape. He cited the Global Terrorism Index, which indicates that Nigeria has moved away from its previous ranking as one of the world’s most terror-affected nations.
As Tinubu’s administration nears its second anniversary, the government remains focused on strengthening economic stability, improving security, and delivering lasting progress for Nigerians.
