Afrizi, a vibrant Nigerian restaurant in Basingstoke’s Festival Place, has secured a remarkable feat – nominations in three prestigious categories of the Destination Basingstoke Inspire Business Awards.
The young and ambitious couple behind Afrizi, Carlee Osundina (24) and her husband Ezekiel, are not only vying for the top spot in the “Sustainable Champion” category, sponsored by PLANT, but are also individually nominated for their hard work and dedication. Carlee is a finalist for “Young Business Person of the Year,” while Zara Smith is up for “Apprentice of the Year.”
Afrizi takes diners on a culinary journey through Africa, offering a tantalizing menu featuring popular Nigerian street food. From savoury meat pies to melt-in-your-mouth puff puffs, the restaurant caters to diverse palates, including vegetarians and vegans, with a focus on fresh, delicious options. Notably, Afrizi takes sustainability seriously, even making their own tofu in-house to minimize their environmental impact.
