Renowned Nigerian gospel artist and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, will minister at the U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
The event, organized by Reverend Merrie Turner, will take place ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.
Hosted at the Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom, the prayer breakfast will feature prominent speakers such as Dr. Alveda King and Pastor Mario Bramnick.
Bassey, known for his powerful gospel music and the Hallelujah Challenge — an online worship movement — shared his excitement on Instagram, inviting his followers to join in worship. “Let’s raise a sound in America. See you on January 20, 2025,” he wrote.
In recognition of his contributions to gospel music and ministry, Bassey was honored in 2024 when Albany, New York, declared October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day.”
The inaugural prayer breakfast seeks to provide spiritual support and blessings for the incoming U.S. administration.
