NiDO-worldwide commends Nigerian woman for returning $5,700 found in U.S.

The Nigerian Diaspora Organization (NiDO-Worldwide) has praised Victoria Ogunremi, a Nigerian-American woman known as Ebiere, for her remarkable act of honesty in returning $5,700 she found in a toilet at her workplace in the United States.

Dr. Victor Ubani, the Coordinating Chairman of NiDO-Worldwide, expressed the organization’s appreciation for Ebiere’s actions during a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday.

Ubani urged Nigerians both at home and abroad to follow Ebiere’s example, demonstrating integrity and portraying Nigeria positively on the global stage. He emphasized that such acts of goodwill would not only enhance Nigeria’s image but also attract foreign investments, fostering economic growth in the country.

“By demonstrating such exemplary behavior, we strengthen our nation’s reputation,” Ubani stated. “Ebiere’s honesty is a shining example of the goodness that Nigerians possess, and her actions have already spread a positive message across the United States.”

With over 20 million Nigerians living abroad, Ubani called on the diaspora community to continue showcasing Nigeria’s positive side, despite the country’s challenges. He emphasized that collective efforts in promoting goodwill and kindness would strengthen Nigeria’s global identity.

Ubani also urged Nigerian governments at all levels to recognize and reward acts of integrity like Ebiere’s, as they contribute to promoting good character and excellence within the country.

Ebiere’s kind gesture has received widespread praise, including from her employer, colleagues, and the individual who lost the money. Ubani highlighted that her actions exemplify integrity and compassion, setting a strong example for others to follow.
