Spanish-Nigerian forward nets last-gasp winner as Man United U18s edge derby in 7-goal thriller

Spanish-Nigerian forward Victor Musa came off the bench to seal a dramatic 4–3 victory for Manchester United U18s over Derby County in a thrilling Premier League clash at the Trafford Training Centre on Good Friday.

The young striker, who previously represented Spain at U16 level, continued his impressive form just days after scoring six goals in a 13–1 rout of Leeds United.

This time, Musa played the hero again, scoring deep into stoppage time to snatch all three points.

Derby started the match strongly, with Cruz Allen opening the scoring in the 9th minute, followed by a second from Charles Ebuka Agbawodikeizu in the 33rd minute.

United began their comeback four minutes later when Bendito Mantato found the net after a well-worked passing move broke through Derby’s defence.

James Scanlon’s deflected strike brought the sides level in the 72nd minute, before Shea Lacey turned the game around with a composed finish four minutes later.

Derby weren’t done yet—Tristan Gill struck in the 82nd minute to level things at 3–3, setting the stage for a tense finish.

But Musa, who had been introduced shortly after the hour mark, had the final say with a clutch goal in added time.

With his latest effort, Musa now has 15 goals across all competitions this season for United’s youth sides—12 in the U18 Premier League, two in the National League Cup, and one in the EFL Trophy.

The young Red Devils, currently second in the U18 Premier League North, will travel to face Everton at Finch Farm on Saturday, April 26.
