Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), has been awarded the Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service 2024 for her outstanding contributions as a ‘Pacesetter in Diaspora Affairs.’
Recognized for her dedication to promoting Diaspora engagement in Nigeria, Africa, and globally, Dr. Dabiri-Erewa received this prestigious honor.
During the ceremony, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima commended the award recipients, emphasizing that a call to service is a sacred duty. He urged all government officials to be selfless in their service to the nation.
Speaking with newsmen after the event, Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa expressed her sincere appreciation for the honor and pledged to redouble her efforts in her work.
“Success in life is not about how much money you have in your account but about how many lives your are able to touch and how much impact you can make wherever you find yourself,” she said.
She thanked all NIDCOM staff as well as Nigerians in the diaspora she has been privileged to work with within the last couple of years.
