Kanye West urges US Artists to learn from Nigeria, others

Kanye West has encouraged American artists to improve their business acumen by learning from their peers in Nigeria, China, and India.

In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, the 47-year-old rapper emphasized that many US artists lack financial independence and control over their careers, often relying too much on external management, lawyers, and record labels.

West expressed frustration with how American artists manage their careers, claiming that many are unaware of the details of their contracts, finances, or overall business strategies.

He also criticized the industry’s dependence on Jewish investors and lawyers, suggesting that they wield too much influence over US artists’ businesses.

“Many of these artists aren’t as sharp as I am,” he said. “They don’t even understand the basics, like counting. The whole system—contracts, management—has been controlled by Jewish investors and lawyers.”

He further challenged the industry, stating, “If anyone can run a record label or TV network without Jewish involvement, I’ll take back what I said.”

West pointed out that until artists in the US can organize their businesses with the same efficiency as those in Nigeria, China, or India, his criticism stands.

In recent weeks, West has also made headlines for criticizing fellow artist Jay-Z’s family, questioning the intelligence of his children, and publicly naming individuals he claims have betrayed him.
