JAPA: Peter Obi supports Nigerian Youths on seeking opportunities abroad

Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State and the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has expressed support for Nigerian youths who are seeking better prospects abroad.

Speaking during a donation event where he pledged N60 million to two higher education institutions in Anambra State, Obi emphasized that those who leave Nigeria in search of better opportunities may eventually return when the country’s situation improves.

Obi donated N50 million to Peter University in Achina/Onneh and an additional N10 million to the School of Nursing Sciences in Adazi-Nnukwu.

While addressing students at the College of Nursing Sciences, Obi remarked, “If you cannot find suitable opportunities here, go where you can. We cannot advise anyone to stay where progress is difficult.”

He encouraged students to consider studying abroad if their goals are unachievable within Nigeria, while also expressing optimism that the country’s challenges would eventually be resolved, reducing the need for migration.

“When we build a better Nigeria, you will all return,” he reassured the students.

Obi shared a personal story about his former personal assistant, Michael-Jude, who relocated to the UK and is now pursuing further studies with his wife, a nurse.
