Indian Police arrest notorious Nigerian Drug Kingpin in Bengaluru

Indian police have apprehended William Joseph, the alleged leader of a major drug cartel in Bengaluru, where he was involved in the smuggling and distribution of methamphetamine throughout India.

The arrest is seen as a major success in the ongoing fight against the city’s methamphetamine trade.

William Joseph, a Nigerian national, was captured following information provided by two suspects already in police custody. These suspects, Rajesh Kumar and Sai Balaji, gave crucial details that led authorities to a meth lab and identified Joseph as the cartel’s ringleader.

Joseph had been on the police radar for a long time, known for evading capture repeatedly. His arrest brings the total number of drug traffickers detained in Bengaluru to 10. He was initially arrested in Bengaluru but has since been transferred to Chennai, where further investigations are underway.

In a related incident, authorities in the Dominican Republic detained two Nigerian drug mules who were set to fly to Paris. The suspects had ingested 150 packets of cocaine.

An X-ray scan revealed foreign substances inside their bodies, prompting medical intervention. At a healthcare facility, the suspects expelled 150 bags of what is believed to be cocaine, a banned substance.

The Dominican authorities have detained the suspects and initiated an investigation to uncover their accomplices and other possible links to the drug cartel.
