With only a few matches remaining in the qualifiers, Nigeria, Egypt, and 13 other nations have booked their spots for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be held in Morocco.
Nigeria’s qualification was confirmed after Libya’s 1-0 win over Rwanda in Kigali. Later, Nigeria played to a 1-1 draw with Benin, with Victor Osimhen scoring a late goal to secure a point and ensure the Super Eagles’ spot in the tournament.
Alongside Nigeria, five other teams—Tunisia, South Africa, Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon—clinched their qualifications on Thursday during Matchday 5.
Defending champions Côte d’Ivoire also secured their place and will aim to defend their title in Morocco.
