Football agent Inacio Pia has strongly endorsed Napoli’s interest in signing Ademola Lookman, describing the Atalanta forward as an “extraordinary” player who could significantly strengthen the team ahead of a more demanding season.
Despite being under contract with Atalanta until June 30, 2027, Lookman has a gentleman’s agreement in place to leave the club at the end of the current season.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has enjoyed a stellar run at Atalanta, contributing to 76 goals (51 goals, 25 assists) in 116 appearances across all competitions.
During a live appearance on Radio Goal, Pia highlighted Lookman’s consistent impact in Serie A and his potential to thrive at Napoli.
He remarked: “Lookman would be a fantastic signing for Napoli. He has consistently made a difference in Serie A. He’s had very few struggles, and he is the kind of player who could excel at a club like Napoli.”
With Napoli gearing up for a busier schedule next season, which will include both domestic and European competitions, Pia stressed the importance of building a deeper, high-quality squad.
“Increased competition means Napoli will need a squad capable of handling the extra pressure,” Pia noted. “While they have focused solely on the league this season and managed to maintain a strong position, next year the demands will change. To compete at the highest level, they’ll need to bring in more top-tier players.”
Napoli is not the only club interested in Lookman, as several teams from Serie A, La Liga, and the Premier League are also monitoring the forward’s situation.
