Six digital Nomad visa options Nigerians can apply for

Digital Nomad Visas (DNVs) have become a practical solution for remote professionals who want to live abroad temporarily while working for employers or running businesses outside their host countries. Although these visas typically prohibit local employment, they offer a chance to experience new cultures while staying professionally active.

Currently, six Caribbean and European destinations offer such visas, and Nigerians are eligible to apply. These visas usually require proof of income, have limited validity, and in some cases, allow family members to accompany the applicant. While a few programs lead to permanent residency or citizenship, most focus on short-term relocation.

Here’s a breakdown of six countries offering digital nomad visas that Nigerians can consider:

1. Albania
Albania grants digital nomads a one-year residence permit, renewable for up to five years. Applicants must provide a clean criminal record, valid health insurance, financial documentation showing sufficient income over the past year, proof of accommodation, and professional credentials. Though family eligibility isn’t clearly stated, Albania offers a path to permanent residency and citizenship.
