Nigerians in Philippines mark 64th independence day celebration

Nigerians residing in the Philippines recently gathered in Pasay City, Metro Manila, to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.

The celebration, organized by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Philippines in collaboration with the Nigerian Embassy, highlighted Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.

During the event, Oloje Adeshina, the Charge D’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy, praised the Nigerian community in the Philippines for their exemplary representation of the country.

He encouraged attendees to continue being positive ambassadors for Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Adeshina also took the opportunity to inaugurate the newly appointed executives of NIDO, led by President Tony Marioghae.

In his inaugural address, Marioghae urged his fellow Nigerians in the Philippines to resist feelings of defeat and despair. He called for a proactive approach in facing challenges, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a victorious mindset.

Marioghae further encouraged the community to uphold strong moral principles and values, aiming to achieve extraordinary goals through honor, vision, and unity.
