Dr. Adebola Folorunso, a Nigerian-born cybersecurity expert and Co-founder of Absolute Solutions Technology, has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Cybersecurity by the International University of Information Management, Graduate School of Information Technology, in the State of Colorado.
The award was conferred during the 49th Annual Convention, Induction, and Investiture ceremony of the institution, recognizing Dr. Folorunso’s remarkable contributions to information technology, data security, and cybersecurity.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Folorunso has established herself as a leading figure in the field, serving as a Senior Lead Auditor for various management systems, including ISMS, IT, SMS, BCMS, QMS, PIMS, TISAX, and Cybersecurity. Her expertise spans multiple sectors, such as industry, agriculture, and utilities, where she has conducted extensive compliance audits, hazard analyses, and risk assessments, effectively implementing and maintaining security policies to safeguard organizational assets.
Dr. Folorunso holds an impressive array of professional qualifications, including ISO 27001:2022 Lead Implementer/Auditor, ISO 27017:2015, ISO 27018:2019, ISO 27015, ISACA CISA Certification, and ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, among others.
Throughout her distinguished career, she has led significant projects like ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS Implementations, DLP Enterprise Solutions, and NIST Implementations. She has played crucial roles as a Lead Auditor and Factory Inspector, contributing her expertise to high-profile organizations.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Folorunso is also a prolific author with publications focused on cybersecurity in financial technology, information security management systems, and intelligent car park simulation systems. Her scholarly contributions highlight her dedication to advancing the field of cybersecurity.
