Pelumi Nubi, the content producer who embarked on a solo journey from London to Lagos, has reached Nigeria to a triumphant reception.
Pelumi , 28, was welcomed at the border between Nigeria and Benin Republic on behalf of the Lagos State Government by Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, the Honorable Commissioner of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, along with Idris Aregbe, the Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts, and Culture.
Her second stop was at Badagry from which she headed to Unilag for her homecoming celebration.
Nubi embarked on her expedition on January 31, encountering diverse challenges throughout her path.
In March, she encountered a devastating accident, captured on video, which showcased extensive destruction to the front of the vehicle and a completely shattered windshield.
Pelumi’s father described her safe arrival in Nigeria as “end of anxiety”.
He said, “I kept on telling people that what looks to you people as content creation is a nightmare for us. Every night we couldn’t sleep, so it’s been two months of fun to the whole world but not to us.
On how she felt when her daughter informed her about the trip, Pelumi’s mother said that she approved of it because she has visited over 80 countries before and its her choice to embark on the trip.
