Huawei rewards Nigerian students for winning Global ICT Innovation competition in China

Chinese technology giant Huawei rewarded three Nigerian students on Friday after they emerged winners of the Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024.

The Huawei ICT Innovation Competition  was held China.

The 3-member team emerged the overall global winner in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Competition (with focus on machine learning).

Two of the students are  indigenes of Jigawa State .

Ahmad Abdullahi and Adam Isa Adam who hailed from Babura and Roni Local Government Areas respectively are currently level 5 Computer Engineering students of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Abdullahi in particular, made three exceptional inventions: built a floods detection robot, a cancer detection machine as well a guiding goggle that can guide a blind person navigate the road as well as convert text into spoken words.

The Huawei ICT Competition, initiated in 2015, comprises contests in the fields of cloud computing, networking, and innovation as part of a cooperative effort to enrich Kenya’s ICT (information and communications technology) talent pool through the transfer of the latest knowledge in the technology sector.
