Family of US-based Nigerian bodybuilder, Michael Chidozie, who was shot dead by wife are set take his remains back home.
Michael, 26 was shot dead by his wife, Keaiirra Shavoiyae Chidozie, 30, in the middle of an argument in front of their children in their home in Houston on March 21.
She had claimed to have shot Chidozie in self-defense as she feared for her life during the argument when he followed her into their bedroom.
Police later found Keaiirra with the children in a nearby parking lot after witnesses called police to say she was frantically running around asking for help.
While still struggling to cope with their loss, Chidozie’s family and friends have shifted their efforts to bringing his body home to Nigeria, which comes with a hefty price tag of $70,000.
One family member said : Though the family is “devastated,” bringing his body home will bring some sort of closure as it was his dream to one day return to his homeland.
