FA Cup: Osula opens Newcastle account, Ugochukwu shines for Southampton

William Osula, a Denmark U21 international of Nigerian descent, scored his first goal for Newcastle United in their 3-1 victory over Bromley in the Emirates FA Cup at St. James’ Park on Sunday.

The 21-year-old striker netted the third goal for Newcastle, following earlier strikes from Lewis Miley and Anthony Gordon that turned the match in the hosts’ favor after Bromley’s Cameron Congreve had opened the scoring.

Osula’s goal marked his first of the season in ten appearances across all competitions, providing a much-needed boost to his confidence as he seeks more first-team opportunities moving forward.

Meanwhile, Chelsea loanee Lesley Ugochukwu played a pivotal role in Southampton’s dominant 3-0 win over Swansea City.

The France U21 international, who is the nephew of retired Nigeria international Onyekachi Apam, provided a key assist for Kamaldeen Sulemana’s opening goal.

Despite being substituted in the second half for William Smallbone, Ugochukwu’s performance was instrumental in Southampton’s victory.

The strong showing will likely boost Ugochukwu’s confidence and support his efforts to establish himself further in English football.
