Ethiopian Airlines increases Lagos flights for Nigerian travelers

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest carrier, has announced that it will expand its flight operations from Lagos, Nigeria, starting July 1.

The airline will introduce an additional daily service, giving Nigerian passengers more travel options.

The new flights will allow for smoother and quicker connections to various destinations across Africa and Asia. With the added frequency, travelers will enjoy shorter overall travel times.

According to the schedule, there will now be four evening departures at 10:00 PM and three early morning flights at 5:40 AM, in addition to the unchanged midday service.

The evening flight, ET 902, will leave Lagos at 10:00 PM and arrive in Addis Ababa at 5:20 AM, offering convenient connections to numerous destinations such as Dubai, São Paulo, Tel Aviv, and others across the continent.

Meanwhile, the morning service, ET 904, will depart Lagos at 5:40 AM and land in Addis Ababa by 1:00 PM, aligning perfectly with afternoon flights to African cities and locations in the Middle East and Asia, including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Istanbul, Rome, Athens, Zanzibar, and Dar es Salaam.

Firiehiwot Mekonnen, Ethiopian Airlines’ Area Manager in Nigeria, expressed enthusiasm about the development. “We’re excited to provide more options for travelers out of Lagos. These additional flights enhance our service quality and help reduce travel costs. Most passengers will reach their destinations more quickly,” she said.

Ethiopian Airlines has maintained a strong presence in Nigeria since 1960 and continues to operate modern aircraft such as the Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The airline connects Lagos to more than 140 destinations around the world.
