Chelsea sign Nigerian-Born Striker Tyrique George on new contract until 2027

Chelsea FC has secured Nigerian-born striker Tyrique George on a new contract lasting until 2027, with an additional one-year option.

George began his journey with Chelsea through the Blues’ development centre programme, signing on as an Under-8 and progressing through the ranks at the club’s Cobham academy.

He made his Under-18s debut at the start of the 2021/22 season while still a schoolboy and became a regular the following season, making 28 appearances under coaches Ed Brand and later Hassan Suleiman.

Last season, George played for two Chelsea Academy teams and scored several notable goals. He made 26 appearances for the Under-21s, including three in the Premier League 2 playoffs, and 21 outings for the Under-18s, who ended the season as Premier League South champions.

Internationally, the promising Nigerian starlet has represented England at the Under-17 level and has now advanced to the national Under-18 squad.
