Dr. Ademola Adesola, a lecturer in Postcolonial Literature at the Department of English, Languages, and Cultures, Mount Royal University, Calgary, Alberta, has been recognised with a prestigious faculty award.
Adesola was presented with the Faculty of Arts Outstanding Scholar Award for the 2024–2025 academic year, acknowledging his academic contributions and productivity at the institution.
The Nigerian-Canadian academic received the honour during the university’s faculty council meeting held last week.
Speaking with PUNCH Diaspora Tales about the recognition, Adesola expressed his gratitude, noting that although he had only spent three years at Mount Royal University, the award considered scholarly activities spanning the last five years.
“It is both inspiring and challenging,” he said. “This recognition affirms the value of my academic work, and I view it as both an encouragement and a call to further dedication.”
He added that receiving the award was a positive and motivating experience, reinforcing his commitment to scholarly excellence.
