Anthony Joshua set for epic showdown against Daniel Dubois tonight at Wembley Stadium

Anthony Joshua is set to face Daniel Dubois tonight at Wembley Stadium, with the IBF heavyweight world title on the line in a major all-British clash.

Dubois, who was elevated to IBF champion status in June after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title, will be defending his belt for the first time. Usyk opted to focus on a rematch with Tyson Fury rather than fulfill his IBF mandatory obligations, opening the door for this high-profile fight.

Although Dubois is the reigning champion, Joshua is widely regarded as the favorite in what will be his first fight at Wembley in six years. The 34-year-old former two-time world champion is determined to reclaim the IBF title and achieve a historic third reign. Joshua has been on a comeback trail since a shocking loss to Andy Ruiz in 2019 and two subsequent defeats to Usyk.

After rebuilding with impressive wins over Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and UFC legend Francis Ngannou, Joshua seems to have rediscovered the aggressive form that once made him the dominant force in the heavyweight division.

This showdown marks Joshua’s first all-British fight since his 2015 victory over Dillian Whyte, with a crowd of up to 96,000 expected to fill Wembley Stadium for this massive event.

For Dubois, tonight’s bout is the biggest challenge of his career. The 27-year-old recovered from a controversial loss to Usyk last year, where a low-blow dispute marred the fight, and has since gone on to beat Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic to earn the IBF interim title, which later became the full championship.

The winner of this bout is likely to position themselves for a unification fight with either Usyk or Fury in 2025, adding even more significance to the contest.

The event is part of the Riyadh Season and will be broadcast live in the UK via DAZN, Sky Sports Box Office, and TNT Sports Box Office, with the main event scheduled for around 11 pm BST.

While the official fight purses remain undisclosed, reports suggest Dubois will earn £3.5 million, while Joshua will pocket £6 million, with both figures potentially rising depending on pay-per-view sales.

Joshua’s recent resurgence, under the guidance of trainer Ben Davison, has seen him return to a more dominant style in the ring. While Dubois has shown resilience in previous battles, he will need to avoid taking too much punishment from Joshua, whose power and experience could prove decisive.

With both fighters weighing in at their heaviest—Joshua at 252.5lbs and Dubois at 248.6lbs—the stage is set for an explosive encounter that could pave the way for even bigger matchups in 2025.

Fans are eagerly awaiting a night of heavyweight fireworks as Joshua looks to reclaim his spot at the top, and Dubois seeks to prove himself as a true champion on the grandest stage of his career.
