Ajibade set to depart Atletico Madrid

Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade is preparing to leave Atletico Madrid Femeni when her contract expires at the end of the current season, with no plans for an extension.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international has been a key figure for the Spanish club over the past four years, scoring 40 goals in 136 appearances.

This season, she has maintained her strong performances, contributing six goals and three assists in 19 matches, helping Atletico Madrid secure third place in La Liga Femeni after 27 games.

Reports from Soccerdonna suggest that Ajibade will move on from Atletico Madrid in the summer, with the club already looking for a replacement to fill her role.

Ajibade has been linked with a potential switch to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States, where her Super Falcons teammate Asisat Oshoala currently plays after leaving Barcelona.

The NWSL has become an increasingly popular destination for top female footballers, and Ajibade is expected to follow suit.

While no specific club has been mentioned yet, there is speculation that she may join Oshoala at Bay FC.

Having earned 29 caps for the Super Falcons and scored five goals, Ajibade is expected to be one of the standout players in the upcoming Women’s African Cup of Nations.
