Delta Air Lines is bolstering its position as the leading U.S. carrier to Africa with the relaunch of daily service between New York-JFK and Lagos, Nigeria (LOS) starting December 1, 2024.
The announcement comes alongside ongoing fleet upgrades for Accra, Ghana (ACC), and South Africa, further solidifying Delta’s commitment to the African continent.
“These enhancements reflect our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our customers,” stated Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President of Network Planning for Delta. “We’re expanding options for travelers to experience the premium service and elevated hospitality they expect from Delta.”
The resumption of daily flights from New York will significantly increase Delta’s Nigerian presence. Combined with existing daily service from Atlanta, Delta will offer a total of 14 weekly flights to Nigeria in December and January, reducing to 10 flights for the remainder of the winter season.
Passengers on the new route can choose from various cabin experiences on the Airbus A330-200 aircraft, including Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin.
Delta One boasts an extensive food and beverage program with curated menus, specialty snacks, and premium drinks. Delta Premium Select offers enhanced comfort with wider seats, deeper recline, and adjustable leg rests.
For all passengers, Delta Studio provides a wide selection of in-flight entertainment options including movies, TV shows, music, podcasts, and more. Passengers can also expect Delta’s signature amenities, featuring artisan-crafted amenity kits and beverages from diverse global suppliers.
