Want-away Super Eagles Striker Umar Sadiq offered to Sevilla, Getafe, Valencia

Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq is reportedly set to leave Real Sociedad during the January transfer window after expressing his desire for a move due to limited playing time this season.

According to reports from AS, Sadiq’s agent has reached out to La Liga clubs Sevilla, Getafe, and Valencia in an effort to secure a transfer for the forward.

Sevilla had shown interest in Sadiq last summer, but the Kaduna-born striker turned down the opportunity to join the UEFA Europa League record holders. Instead, Sevilla signed his international teammate Kelechi Iheanacho. However, with Iheanacho struggling to make an impact, Sevilla might still be open to signing another striker.

Getafe also pursued Sadiq previously as part of a proposed swap deal involving Borja Mayoral, but the agreement fell through. With Getafe struggling in front of goal—having scored only 11 times in 18 matches—the club could renew their interest in the Nigerian forward as they aim to avoid relegation.

Real Sociedad are reportedly open to letting Sadiq leave, with a loan deal being a possibility. The relationship between the player and the club has not been fruitful since his arrival in 2022. Despite making 50 appearances across all competitions for the two-time Spanish champions, Sadiq has only managed four goals and two assists.

This season, the 27-year-old has been limited to just two starts in La Liga, making his exit in January increasingly likely as he seeks more consistent playing time elsewhere.
