As more Nigerians continued to attempt new records in different fields of endeavour in the World Guinness book of records, a US- based Nigerian Tunde Onakoya has secured approval to embark on 58-hour Chess competition to break a new Guinness world record for the longest longest Chess marathon.
Onakoya who dislcosed this via his X handle said the competition which will start on April 17, will take place in the heart of Times Square New York City .
He noted that he was doing this for the dreams of millions of children across Africa without access to education.
The longest chess marathon is 56 hr 09 min 37 sec, and was achieved by Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad (both Norway) in Haugesund, Norway, on 11 November 2018.
Hallvard and Sjur are both keen blitz chess players.
Onakoya needs the support of Nigerians to achieve this feat.
