In response to Kemi Badenoch’s recent claims that some officers of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) stole her brother’s shoes and wristwatch, James Akinwande, a UK-based Nigerian, has replaced the stolen items.
While Badenoch did not specify the year the incident occurred, she remarked, “giving people a gun is just a license to intimidate,” expressing her discontent with the situation.
Badenoch, the leader of the UK Conservative Party, has frequently criticized Nigeria’s leadership, a stance that has garnered both support and criticism.
In reaction to the alleged theft, Akinwande recorded a video where he visited a store in the UK, purchasing a new pair of shoes and a wristwatch.
According to Punch, Akinwande then took the items to the Conservative Party headquarters, where he attempted to hand them over to Badnoch.
At the security gate, Akinwande presented the items, stating his intention to deliver them to the Tory leader.
At the end of the video, Akinwande wrote: “On behalf of every proud Nigerian who felt genuinely hurt by those unfounded disparaging remarks about The Nigerian Police. We ‘buy back’ the stolen shoes and watch! (I hope it fits, tho..).” The video has since gone viral on social media.
On his Instagram profile, Akinwande describes himself as a legal representative, golfer, and international manager to Nigerian music-comedian Kenny Blaq.
