Timi Frank celebrates Prof. Umerah over Biden’s lifetime achievement award in America

Political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has lauded the recent Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Nigerian-born American Professor of Medicine, Dr. Nnaemeka Umerah, by U.S. President Joe Biden.

Frank described the recognition as a well-deserved honor, emphasizing that “the Professor of Medicine is a beacon of excellence, not just in Nigeria, but across the diaspora.”

The Presidential Lifetime Service Award is one of the highest civilian distinctions in the United States, given to individuals who have made significant, enduring contributions to volunteer service and the strengthening of the nation.

In presenting the award, President Biden stated, “The American story depends not on any one of us, not on some of us, but on all of us. I congratulate you for your dedication to the public good, and I am proud to present you with the Presidential Lifetime Service Award in recognition of your service to this great nation.”

In his congratulatory message, signed Friday in Abuja, Timi Frank thanked President Biden and the U.S. government for recognizing Prof. Umerah’s contributions. He highlighted that, in Nigeria, Umerah continues to make a significant impact through various initiatives across the country’s political zones.

Frank praised Umerah as both a humanist and philanthropist, noting that the U.S.-based professor has established one of the largest orphanages in Nigeria, renovated schools nationwide, and provided boreholes to rural communities in Northern Nigeria.

The APC chieftain called on the Nigerian government to follow the U.S. example by honoring Umerah locally, suggesting that such a gesture would inspire him and others to further contribute to the nation’s development.

The statement concluded: “This recognition is well-deserved, given your years of dedication to humanity, both in Nigeria and the United States. We are proud to celebrate this milestone and commend your outstanding achievements as a humanist and philanthropist. Thank you for making Nigeria and Nigerians proud,” Timi Frank wrote.
