PHOTOS: Nigerian man promoted to Major in US Army

A Nigerian man, Kingsley Ogbuji has been promoted to Major of the United States Army.

Ogbuji from Ezza, Ebonyi state was decorated with his new rank by Commanding General, The United States Army Combined Arms Center, Lieutenant General Milford H. Beagle, Jr. on Tuesday.

He joined the US Army in 2012 as a Joint Awards & Decorations Manager in the United States Department of Defense.

He later served as both the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff/G1 and the Plans & Operations Officer to the Assistant Chief of Staff/G1.

He currently serves as the Chief, Strength Management Division and the G-1 Officer Strength Manager for the United States Army Combined Arms Center (CAC) and the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas

Major Ogbuji graduated from the University of Ibadan (UI) in 2005 with B.LIS, Library, Archival & Information Studies.

While in UI, he served as the Editor-in-Chief for Kuti Hall Press Organization, University of Ibadan and Editor-in-Chief for Library, Archival, & Information Studies Students Association (LARISA) Press Organization.

He also served as Information and Defence Minister, Kuti Hall, University of Ibadan (2003-2004)

He also holds a MA in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma
