Turkish football pundit Ali Ece has advised Galatasaray to make a move for Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, claiming the Portuguese playmaker would be the club’s most significant signing in recent years, second only to Victor Osimhen.
On the Vole YouTube channel, as reported by habersarikirmizi.com, Ece praised Silva’s qualities and highlighted the immediate impact he could have under Galatasaray’s head coach, Okan Buruk.
“Gabriel Sara is being played in both Granit Xhaka and Bernardo Silva’s area by Okan Buruk,” Ece stated.
“If Bernardo Silva joins Galatasaray, he will become the new Dries Mertens and will be the club’s best transfer since Osimhen. He will even overshadow Icardi.”
At 30, Silva has been a crucial figure at Manchester City, renowned for his intelligence, versatility, and relentless work ethic.
Ece believes that Silva’s experience at the highest level of European football would provide a substantial boost to Galatasaray’s midfield and add fresh attacking options.
Galatasaray’s recent transfer activities have garnered attention, particularly after the loan signing of Victor Osimhen from Napoli last summer.
The Nigerian striker has been instrumental in the team’s success, netting 33 goals in all competitions and winning the hearts of fans in Istanbul.
The addition of a player like Silva would send a strong message about the club’s ambitions, further strengthening their squad as they prepare for both domestic and European challenges.
