Osimhen denies assault allegations, threatens legal action against Turkish journalist

Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian footballer currently on loan to Galatasaray from Napoli, has strongly denied accusations of assault and announced his intention to sue Turkish journalist Tolga Bozduman, who claimed that the striker punched him during an incident in Istanbul.

Bozduman, along with his colleagues, alleged that Osimhen became aggressive when they attempted to photograph him as he left a venue. However, Osimhen has rejected these allegations as false. After scoring the winning penalty in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday, the striker shared his side of the story with reporters.

“I went out to eat with my friends, and as we were heading back to my van, these people suddenly appeared with cameras right in front of me. I was shocked,” Osimhen explained.

He continued, “You can see the video online; I was surprised and asked them, ‘What’s going on? Why are you doing this?’ They claimed to be paparazzi. My friends intervened and told them they were being unprofessional. I never hit anyone. I only asked them to delete my photos. It’s my image, and I have every right to request that.”

Osimhen further accused Bozduman of fabricating the incident, stating, “I knew they would lie about this. If I had hit him, justice would be served. If he’s lying, he will face the consequences. I will take all necessary legal actions to ensure the truth comes out.”

Osimhen, who has been in outstanding form this season, has scored 16 goals and provided six assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.
