Nigerian internationals, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, handed Fulham an important away win in the club’s pulsating encounter with Manchester United at the Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Bassey had given Fulham the lead in the 66th minute when he met Andreas’ corner with a volley which initially struck Castagne before the Nigeria defender blasted home at the second attempt.
United’s defender, Harry Maguire, has prodded home from close range after Leno could only parry Fernandes’ shot in the 89th minutes, Alex Iwobi slotted pass Onana from an Adama Traore pass to send the ecstatic home fans into silence in added time.
The win ended United’s recent winning run, courtesy of the brilliant performance of AFCON’s silver medallists, Iwobi and Bassey.
