A passenger onboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Atlanta, United States to Lagos died on Monday after more than four hours of takeoff .
The woman, on flight DELTA DL 54 was said to be ill before boarding the flight on Sunday evening.
The flight was supposed to have landed in Lagos around 10am on Monday .
According to the airline’s website, the flight departed Atlanta at 5.49pm. Atlanta time. It was scheduled for a 10.10 a.m. CT arrival at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA)
Sources in the plane told allnaijadiaspora that the female passenger passed away despite immediate medical attention.

From the flight-tracker data, the plane was diverted to San-Juan, probably to evacuate the dead body.
The cause of the death and the passenger’s identity were not immediately disclosed.
No other information has been released.
The total number of people on board is also not immediately known, but this aircraft has a seating capacity of about 247 passengers according to Airbus .
Her family and friends will be shattered to realize they are picking up her corpse on arrival.
