NiDCOM Chair announces arrest of suspect trafficking young Nigerian girls to Ghana

Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has announced the arrest of an individual involved in trafficking young girls to Ghana for sex work.

It would be recalled that allnaijadiaspora.com had yesterday reported the trafficking of the young girls to Ghana.

She disclosed this on Twitter while expressing gratitude to Chief Callistus, Chairman of Nido Ghana, whose support was instrumental in the swift apprehension of the suspect.

She wrote, “These are young girls trafficked to Ghana for prostitution . We thank Chief Callistus, Chairman, Nido Ghana for ensuring the arrest of the evil perpetrator. I am sure @naptipnigeria will follow up, very, very heartbreaking.”

Meanwhile, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other related matters (NAPTIP) had also launched an investigation into the circumstances behind a viral video depicting teenage girls reportedly trafficked to Ghana for prostitution.
