Versatile Arsenal forward Andre Harriman-Annous has announced his eligibility to represent the national teams of England, Nigeria, and Ghana, according to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Harriman-Annous, a Barnet native, can play for the Super Eagles through his Nigerian mother, Josephine Harriman, a prominent investment banker in London, while his Ghanaian father grants him eligibility for the Black Stars.
Coming from a sporting family, Andre’s older brother, Brandon Harriman-Annous, previously attended Arsenal’s Hale End Academy before transferring to Brentford and then moving to Hull City this summer. His cousin, Oghenemaro Itoje, is a renowned professional rugby player and the 2016 European Player of the Year.
At just 16 years old, Andre Harriman-Annous is considered one of Arsenal’s most promising talents of Nigerian descent, second only to Ethan Nwaneri in terms of potential. He signed a scholarship deal with the Gunners ahead of the 2024-2025 season and has already made his debut in the UEFA Youth League, Premier League 2, and EFL Trophy, playing above his age group.
This season, he has scored seven goals across all competitions, with one notable strike against Brighton & Hove nominated for Arsenal’s Goal of the Month for September.
Reflecting on his journey, Annous shared, “I grew up in Barnet and started playing football in the park when I was four. My family background is African—my mum is from Nigeria and my dad is Ghanaian. I started playing for a local team called Whetstone Wanderers when I was around five or six. I was scouted for the Tottenham pre-academy at about seven but moved to Arsenal and have been here ever since. It’s a dream come true because I’m an Arsenal fan!”
Andre cites Arsenal legends Thierry Henry, Alexis Sanchez, and Mesut Özil as his role models.
