As the Seventh Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) concluded in Abuja, the Federal Government emphasized its commitment to fostering a conducive ecosystem for diaspora investment, focused on rapid infrastructure development across various sectors of the economy.
Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mrs. Jumoke Oduwole, made this statement during the Gala Night, marking the close of the summit.
According to a release by Gabriel Odu from NiDCOM’s Media, Public Relations, and Protocols unit, Mrs. Oduwole highlighted her role in supporting Nigerians abroad in navigating business opportunities back home. She assured investors that the government is fully dedicated to creating a supportive environment through strategic policy alignment, trade facilitation, and regulatory backing.
“As you invest in Nigeria, know that we are committed to sustaining an environment that fosters growth and success. Stay connected with home—there’s truly no place like Nigeria,” she affirmed.
Special Guest of Honour, Senator Anthony Siyako Yaro, Deputy Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Diaspora and representative of the Gombe South Senatorial District, reiterated that the Nigerian diaspora is a vital driver of economic progress. He highlighted the administration’s goal of achieving a $1 trillion GDP by 2025, with significant contributions from the diaspora community.
Yaro assured attendees of the government’s commitment to fostering diaspora-driven investments, emphasizing that the Senate would provide all necessary legislative support to drive this agenda forward. “NDIS plays a pivotal role in realizing the goal of a $1 trillion GDP, and it will be the key catalyst in turning this vision into reality,” he stated.
The NDIS Team also honored PhysioCraft Health and Allied Services for their significant contributions during the summit’s pitching session, which showcased innovative projects designed to drive national development.
Other awardees included Victory Belt College of Education and Haske Children Foundation, each receiving a cash prize of N100,000 for their impactful pitches. To close the summit, the Ekiti State Cultural Troupe performed a lively celebration of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, while rising star Dice Ailes entertained the guests.
