The Directorate for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM), in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), has successfully repatriated over 150 Nigerian migrants, predominantly women and children, from Libya.
The repatriation took place through Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli.
Migrant Rescue Watch, an advocacy group, confirmed the development on Tuesday via a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the DCIM, with the support of IOM, facilitated the return of these Nigerian nationals.
In addition, Libyan authorities recently apprehended four Nigerians in Sabha and Bani Walid on charges related to drug trafficking and testing positive for infectious diseases.
