Juventus eye summer move for Osimhen despite Premier League competition

Italian football powerhouse Juventus are reportedly setting their sights on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a key signing to bolster their attacking line-up in the upcoming summer transfer window.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport via IlBianconero, the Bianconeri are making Osimhen a top priority, even as several Premier League clubs remain actively interested in acquiring the forward.

Cristiano Giuntoli, now Juventus’ football director, was instrumental in Osimhen’s move to Napoli during his previous role.

He is now aiming to bring the prolific striker to Turin and reunite with him at the Allianz Stadium.

Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, is having a stellar season—netting 33 goals and providing eight assists in 37 appearances, breaking his personal best.

While English clubs continue to monitor his situation, Juventus are firmly in the hunt for his signature.

However, a deal may prove complicated. Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is reportedly reluctant to let the striker join a direct Serie A rival.

Although Osimhen has a €75 million release clause, it’s believed to apply only to clubs outside of Italy, which could hinder Juventus’ plans.

To fund the potential transfer, Juventus may need to sell some players this summer.

Their ability to spend heavily could also hinge on securing a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
