John Agbaje, the eldest son of prominent Nigerian politician Jimi Agbaje, will be laid to rest on Friday in Canada.
John passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, in Canada.
The late John Agbaje, aged 41, was the first son of Jimi Agbaje, a former gubernatorial candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State and a key figure in the Afenifere Renewal Group.
Mr. Agbaje disclosed part of the burial arrangements in Lagos on Wednesday via telephone.
According to him, the family will also hold a special memorial service for the late son in Lagos at a later date after the burial in Canada.
Agbaje, who had few words to say about his son’s demise, mentioned that the family, in faith, has handed the loss over to God.
“His mother and I, indeed the entire extended family cannot describe our pains. The shock is still there but in all, we give in to the will of God. We cannot question God and we know He alone will help us to heal with time.”
Mr John reportedly died of cardiac arrest.
