”I like moin moin”: Arsenal’s Saka chooses Nigerian dishes over British fare

Arsenal’s talented winger, Bukayo Saka, has revealed his soft spot for Nigerian cuisine. In a recent video, Saka, born in London to Nigerian parents, showed his loyalty to his roots by consistently picking Nigerian dishes when faced with a choice between Nigerian and British staples.

While representing England on the international stage, the 22-year-old attacker clearly hasn’t forgotten his family’s heritage. The video highlighted Saka’s familiarity with Nigerian cuisine, crediting his mother for introducing him to these dishes from a young age. Saka’s preference for jollof rice over cauliflower cheese and moin moin over scotch eggs exemplifies the influence of his upbringing.

This love for his heritage extends beyond the dinner table. Saka has actively participated in charitable work focused on helping Nigerian children. He even met with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during a visit last season.
