“Galatasaray is the best,” says Osimhen after securing club’s 25th league title

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen played a key role in Galatasaray’s triumphant campaign, helping the Turkish giants claim their record 25th Süper Lig title with a convincing 3-0 victory over Kayserispor.

The win secured the championship with two games remaining, extending their lead to eight points over fierce rivals Fenerbahçe.

Osimhen, who opened the scoring in the match, celebrated the historic win with a bold message on social media, hailing Galatasaray as “the best.”

His goal marked his 25th in the league and brought his total to 36 across all competitions since joining the club on loan from Napoli last September.

This latest success wraps up a remarkable domestic double for Galatasaray, who also claimed the Turkish Cup after a win over Trabzonspor — a game in which Osimhen scored twice.

The Istanbul-based club last achieved this feat during the 2018/19 season.

The Nigerian striker’s impact this season has been extraordinary. He shattered Mario Jardel’s long-standing record, becoming the highest-scoring foreign player in a single season of Turkish football.

Galatasaray’s impressive campaign, which saw them dominate the league from the third matchday, was fittingly concluded with a late penalty converted by goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

While Galatasaray celebrates a season of glory, speculation about Osimhen’s next move is growing.

Reports from Italy indicate that Napoli has accepted an €85 million offer from Juventus, though Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal is also reportedly preparing a lucrative bid.

With his goal-scoring exploits capturing attention across Europe and beyond, Osimhen has not only reignited Galatasaray’s domestic success but also positioned himself as one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.
