The Nigerian diaspora in UK has so far raised close to £ 2000 for the family Abraham Sodienye, who lost his wife, Souvenir Krama.
She passed away without any prior illness on February 19, 2023.
Abraham and some family members were present as Souvenir was gasping for breath, and immediately tried to resuscitate her while paramedics arrived at their home to initiate advanced resuscitation.
Souvenir was later rushed to Royal Oldham Hospital, Greater Manchester, where they placed her on life support and continued their resuscitation efforts, but despite the immediate intervention of emergency services, she still died.
Though initially the hospital and the coroner were unable to identify a cause of death, a later autopsy eventually revealed that her cause of death was a result of a blood clot in her lungs (Pulmonary embolism).
Abraham and Souvenir got married in June 2023 before she came to the UK in October of the same year to study for her MSc in Big Data Analytics at the University of Derby.
Abraham later joined her a month later on a dependent visa.
Deeply moved by the sudden loss, the Nigerian community in UK has united to offer assistance to Abraham.
Abraham who is presently on a dependant visa is struggling to meet the exorbitant cost of daily living expenses coupled with the added cost of funeral preparations.
They have so far managed to raise close to £2000 through a Gofundme account opened for that purpose. The appeal seeks to raise about £8,650.
