The Centre for Newcomers in Canada, in partnership with the Trade Pathways Forum under the Alberta Construction Association, is organizing an informative session to help newcomers explore career opportunities and apprenticeships within Canada’s growing trade and construction sectors.
This initiative aims to address Alberta’s skilled labor shortage by connecting newcomers with career prospects in the trade and construction industries.
The Trade Pathways program, part of the Alberta Construction Association, offers support in the form of tools, workwear, transportation, and apprenticeship tuition for eligible candidates hired by participating employers.
The in-person event will take place on Friday, April 11, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Centre for Newcomers, located at 125, 565 – 36 Street NE, Calgary, AB T2A 6K3.
In addition to the job fair, the event will provide post-employment support services designed to meet the specific needs of newcomers. Attendees will learn about various resources available to them, such as wage subsidies, financial assistance for tools and uniforms, and guidance from industry employers on boosting employability in the trade and construction sectors.
An expert panel will also be present to share insights and provide advice to attendees interested in the trades and construction fields.
