Grammy award-winning artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has received a plaque in recognition of surpassing two billion streams in the United Kingdom.
The award was presented to Burna Boy following his sold-out performance at Koko Camden in London on Monday, celebrating the fifth anniversary of his ‘African Giant’ album. The artist was honored with a Brit plaque to commemorate this achievement.
Expressing his gratitude upon receiving the Brit 2 billion streams plaque, Burna Boy shared, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Ehen, now that’s it. You’ve got to fight for your right.”
This recognition comes shortly after Burna Boy was awarded a Brit plaque for achieving one billion streams during his packed performance at London Stadium last month, marking the second consecutive year he has reached this milestone.
During the event, Burna Boy brought several prominent Nigerian artists on stage, including Omah Lay, Phyno, Shallipopi, Odumodu Blvck, and Seyi Vibez, delivering an unforgettable experience for fans.
With this latest accomplishment, Burna Boy’s first single of the year, “Higher,” continues to build on his success.
