British-Nigerian, Gabriel Moses revealed as 2025 BRIT Awards Trophy Designer

The BRIT Awards 2025 with Mastercard has announced British-Nigerian multidisciplinary artist Gabriel Moses as the designer of this year’s iconic trophy. Known for collaborations with global names such as Skepta, Little Simz, and Burberry, Moses will join an elite list of past designers, including Dame Vivienne Westwood, Sir Peter Blake, Dame Zaha Hadid, and Yinka Ilori.

The 2025 BRIT Awards will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at The O2 Arena in London, with winners across 16 categories set to receive Moses’ bespoke design. The event will be broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX.

Moses drew inspiration for the trophy from his childhood and Nigerian heritage, referencing sculptures his mother displayed at home. Texture played a significant role in the creative process, with Moses incorporating elements reminiscent of his photographic work, blending historical and modern influences to craft a unique and meaningful piece.

Reflecting on the honor, Moses said:

“To be listed alongside some of the greatest artists, designers, and architects like Vivienne Westwood and Zaha Hadid is truly humbling. This achievement allows me to celebrate both my South London upbringing and Nigerian heritage through this design.”

He emphasized the importance of incorporating personal and cultural memories into his work, stating:

“My goal was to create something that connects deeply with my past, using the textures, materials, and forms that shaped my identity.”

Moses also shared his favorite BRIT Awards moment, recalling Kanye West’s 2015 performance featuring Skepta and Stormzy, which he described as a pivotal moment for London culture.

BRIT Awards Committee Chair Damian Christian praised Moses’ appointment, calling him one of the most exciting creative figures in the world. “Gabriel’s extraordinary vision and his ability to merge UK culture with Nigerian heritage make him the perfect choice. His sleek and striking design will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy.”

Moses, whose work spans music, fashion, and art, has collaborated with Pharrell, Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Travis Scott. His creations have been featured in prestigious publications like Vogue and The New York Times and exhibited globally in renowned galleries.

The 2025 BRIT Awards will also feature the same 16 categories as the 2024 edition, showcasing the diversity and talent within the British music industry.
