Nigerian woman living in US hails upbringing in polygamous family of 39 wives, 147 children

Princess Adenubi Olagbegi-Apampa, a Nigerian woman living in the United States, has expressed pride in coming from a large family.

Her father had 39 wives and 147 children, and she said growing up in such a family was a positive experience for her.

She made this known during the commissioning of the newly completed Princess Nubi Plaza Seliat Hall located at Lagelu Estate in Ibadan.

She shared that if she had the opportunity to be born again, she would still choose to come from the same family. According to her, despite the size of the family, all the children relate well and live in harmony.

She explained that her siblings support each other, even across countries. For instance, her brothers helped with designing and supervising the construction of a project in New Jersey, where she lives.

Princess Olagbegi-Apampa also encouraged Nigerians living abroad not to use insecurity as an excuse to avoid returning home.

She emphasized that problems like insecurity and corruption exist in many countries, including the United States, where she currently resides.

She mentioned that the level of homelessness and begging in America is often higher than what is seen in Nigeria.

She urged Nigerians abroad to come back and contribute to the country’s development, stressing that staying overseas is not always the best option.

She believed people should share their wealth and support their communities when they are in a position to help.

According to her, even while in the US, she trained thousands of people, and she is determined to do even more now that she is back in Nigeria.

As part of her commitment to giving back, she revealed that a pharmacy has been set up behind the new hall, where people will receive free medications regardless of their background or ethnicity. Her goal is to support her community and encourage other Nigerians to do the same.
